FES drama club

Our FES drama club put on a wonderful show. They performed Peter Pan, and the audience absolutely loved it. Good job to the performers and teachers who dedicated their time to this!

Abraham Lincoln Visits FES

Thanks to our PTO, we had a visit from a man that travels around to schools and teaches students about Abe Lincoln. We listened to a few stories that he told and asked him questions. This was the first time he has come to our school and he did an excellent job with the kids. I even learned a few things too!

Happy Valentine’s Day

We celebrated with the wedding of letters Q and U followed by the reception in our room where we had a special snack and exchanged cards. The kids did great at the wedding and made some very creative valentine boxes.

Happy 100th Day Of School

We made it to 100 days! We celebrated that we are 100 days smarter. We had a parade, made froot loop necklaces, shared our 100 collections, and many kids dressed up like they were 100 years old. Our PTO provided each child with a bouncy ball, and they also took home a dated certificate. I loved seeing the kids enjoy this day!

Cheerio bird feeders

After learning about animals in winter, the kids worked on making cheerio feeders to take home and put outside.  This allowed them to use their fine motor skills and have fun helping nature.

Scrooge

We had the pleasure of having the Columbus Children’s Theatre visit FES yesterday. They come to our school once a year and they are so wonderful to see. The kids enjoyed their performance of Scrooge.

Station Rotations

What do your kids do while I am teaching small guided reading groups? They are at stations doing activities, such as buddy reading, writing, listening to stories on the iPad, computers, read to self, working with words, and stem boxes.
