He visited our school on Monday and did a fantastic job of engaging the students. He showed them how he begins his drawings with a letter or number and turns it into a picture. The kids followed along with him and drew on their own paper. Their drawings turned out very well! The kids really enjoyed learning from him how to do this.
As part of our Dr. Seuss week, the students made truffula trees (from the movie, The Lorax). Students had to think of different ways to represent the number at the top of their tree. A few ideas they came up with were tally marks, tens frames, picture, number sentences, and writing the number as a word. They did a super job working together to complete their trees.
